PinPoint: GDPR & PECR Compliance

PinPoint is a Target Education platform that helps education suppliers reach relevant UK school staff with direct marketing. This page sets out our lawful basis for processing, and your rights if your details are held in our database.

What we hold

Work-related contact details only: name, job role, school, and work email address. We hold no sensitive data, and never hold a personal email address, home address or mobile number.

Our lawful basis

We rely on legitimate interests under UK GDPR: the data is limited to professional contact details, its use is proportionate, and it does not override your right to object at any time. Because this data belongs to organisations rather than individuals in a personal capacity, it falls under the “corporate subscriber” category under PECR, so the stricter individual-consent marketing rules do not apply. Your right to object under UK GDPR always applies, and every message carries a clear opt-out.

How the database is built

The database is maintained through an ongoing verification process using publicly available sources. Every contact is checked for accuracy before use, and this process never involves contacting you directly.

Your rights, if you are a teacher or school staff member

You can object to being contacted, ask what we hold, or ask to be removed, at any time by emailing privacy@targeteducation.co.uk. Unsubscribing from a message only removes you from that sender’s list; contact us directly to be removed from PinPoint entirely. See our full Notice to Data Subjects for more detail, or contact the ICO if you are not satisfied with our response.

For business customers

PinPoint gives you access to search, segment and message our database. You never receive a copy of the underlying data, and cannot see an individual’s email address unless they have engaged with your message. Full data protection terms are set out in your PinPoint agreement.
